100 Things about ME

I have been sitting at work thinking of what I could write in my blog and the only thing I could come up with is things about me (the obvious and the not-so-obvious) things people know/ don't know about me. I made a "100 things about me", last Feb.. you can see it HERE

So here is my 2012 list.  :)

1.  I'm 25 years old. And my birthday is 11/03 and I absolutely hate it when people tell me that I'm "Scorpio". I don't believe in astrology, never will.

2. I love Jesus Christ with ALL my heart.

3. I'm married to a wonderful white boy named Derek Ray, who is 24 years old. (The White boy part is the obvious. LOL)

4. We have a beautiful little baby girl named Zyana-Lee Grace Gonzalez, and her name means "Blessing from Heaven". We named her after Derek’s grandmother Ann Lee who was born into this crazy world on September 25, 2011.

5. I was a Navy girl friend for 1 year, then turned Navy wife for 2 years, now turned civilian wife. I prefer Navy wife over civilian wife any day.

6. My husband and I have served two back to back deployments, Afghanistan, and I learned throughout the times he was gone to be the best wife I could ever be.

7. I take pride in knowing that I am one of the very few women who could say that their spouse served this country, and I do stand a little taller. :).

8. I am a middle child of 3 girls. Yes, 3 girls. Oh my poor dad.

9. My sister’s names are Vanessa Sanchez who is 27 and Angelica Rodriguez who just proudly turned 21.

10. My parent’s names are Steve and Maria Anguis. And God granted to me the best parents ever. Steve, (to the world's standards is actually my "step-dad" but to ME. He is OUR DAD.) My biological dad resides in Greely, Colorado and his life consists of drinking alcohol throughout every single day of his life, and has a girlfriend named Cassie who he refuses to marry, because he is still secretly in love with my mom. (I know, I know kinda daytime novellas)

11. I have 2 amazingly, absolutely beautiful nieces. Mariah Adrielle who just turned 2 years old. And Naomi Adriana who is a few months shy of 1 years old.

12. Before they were born, I never had any desire for children. Ever. Then God changed my heart. Forever. Now I want like 4 more kids.. How in the heck does it go from wanting none to at least wanting 5. :)

13. And now....I absolutely LOVE being a mother. It has been such an amazing time and I know it'll only get better.

14. I EBF... for someone who doesn't know what that means, it means, I exclusively breastfeed. And I like it.

15. I just graduated from the University of Phoenix receiving my Bachelors degree in Business.

17. Even though I am a woman, I cannot STAND shopping, especially for myself.

18. I LOVE shoes and BOOTS. My favorite shoe brands are Nine West, Bakers Shoes, Guess and ALDO.

100.  My name is Bernadette and I’m a bit on the sarcastic side. And most times I speak too much, hurt people’s feelings, step out of my bounds.  But one thing I know is that I’m true to myself.  I’m judged for who I am, how I look, and what I believe.  But that’s okay to me, because one thing is for sure.  I will probably be the most honest/blunt/outspoken person you’ll ever come across..  I'm a wife, a daughter, a mother, a sister and an aunt. I'm honest and open.  I enjoy the simple things in life like having my family around chomping on pizza and wings watching Joe Dirt for the hundredth time, all sitting around laughing like its a new movie to us.  I cry, I laugh.  Life gets hard, marriage has its up's and downs.. But this is me.  :)

I can’t really think of anything else to add. But When I do I’ll update my list.

Music

Alright,  I am really not a fan of secular music meaning I ONLY listen to Christian music, but I have a confession to make.  I am in love with Alicia Keys.  Her music, the way she writes and sings is just beyond me.   However, there is one song that I am crazy about.  I'm posting the video.  Chad Michael Murry is in the video too, which is a plus cause he is one handsome white boy. :)

OH 2010..

By far this has been one of the most roller coaster years we've experienced.  And I must say not only I, but my husband has learned so much.  Not only about each other, but about ourselves.  So I am going back to Jan 2010:

In January things were looking so great for us.  We were financially stable, I had a job for two months already and In Nov of 2009 we had our traditional family wedding.  We were living in Aliso Viejo, California.  Derek was still in the military and we officially begun our countdown to civilian life. Derek was getting in this Dec, 2010.  So well I was working Derek went off to do Bridgeport Training in Hawthorne, the winter package so it was extremely cold where he was going. Little did we know what was going to happen soon after he got home.

At the end of Feburary, Derek returned from in 5 week long mountain warfare training. and boy was I excited to have him home.  Everything was perfect!.  Well when he got home from MWT Derek was advised that he would be going on, yet another, Deployment.. This time it was to Afghanistan.  My heart dropped.  I can remember exactly how it all happened, in detail.  I came home from work on a Friday, it was the day that we were supposed to go and file our yearly taxes.  We did too!.  anyways, I came inside and he looked like something was bothering him.  I asked him what was wrong and he told me he needed to tell me something.. I knew it wasnt good, whatever it was because he told me to sit down.  So I sat down and he told me that he just got off the phone with his chief.  He was advised that he would be leaving to Afghanistan in two weeks!! Talk about a train wreck.  Ok, so as I sat there in shock the tears started rolling.  I learned that two weeks was going to come like overnight to me, but luckily we had 13 days to prepare with what we were going to do.  As soon as he told me, I called my mom, my sister Vanessa, Brittany, and then Angela.  It was such a shock for everyone I told.  Well so it began.  we began making arrangements with what we were going to do.  I told my job that I was going to be leaving and I put my two weeks notice in.  After that we told the apartment complex that we were living in as well.  They needed proof of documentation of Dereks deployment so we had to get a letter from his commader showing he was in fact deploying.  Everything went so smooth.  WE had enough time to get a storage and throw all of our belongings in storage.  So by this time, we are now up to the date of Dereks departure.  And to be completely honest I wasnt scared. I knew that Derek would be covered, not only because WE serve a mighty God but because the power of a praying WIFE. So as we sat there in the car I just started praying for him, he was leaving me.  AGAIN. As we made our way out of the car, he checked in.  He got his weapon and from there we sat and we waited for the big ugly white buses to arrive.  Peace took over my body, and the boldness of God gave not only me, but Derek the courage to take this chapter in our lives.  The time had arrived,  The buses arrived and the boys started loading their gear and belongings. As I sat there I began to pray for my husband again..  it was his time to load the bus, and not one tear came.  I was shocked, but I knew it was the peace of God.  As we said our goodbyes I knew that me being alone would be a little easier than last time.  but I knew it was going to hit me eventually. As he drove off all Derek was doing was smiling, and I cant help but remember how in love I was with his smile.  and I knew, that on the day of his homecoming he'd be smiling exactly the same.  So I began to drive away, and yet again, I wasnt scared.  So here we are.  March.  On the 25th Derek left en route to Afghanistan and on the 26th I was back en route to Phoenix, AZ.

Since I was jobless I began watching my god daugther Mariah Adrielle Sanchez.  And all I can say is that through the duration of Dereks Afghanistan deployment this little girl kept me on my toes.  I started watching her at 4 months old, and to be quite honest and embarssed she was the first diaper I have EVER changed, gimme a break here! :) So time was slow throughout the first month of the deployment.  I was still attending the University of Phoenix so I was keeping myself busy with school and church.

We were officially about halfway through Dereks deployment.  Now its June.  I was staying busy still, busting my butt to pay bills and to stay on top of things.  Things were going good and at this time I was a homecoming mode.  Derek was due back in July.

So here we are, July 2010.  I have never been more excited in July! ( one of the hottest months in AZ!)  Derek was due back actually at the end of June, but because of current conditions in Afghanistan that didnt happen.  Anyways I was excited to see my husband.  It was been a very easy yet long deployment to me, even though it was only 4 months.  He was in a battlefield and all I did was worry about his safety..  Throughout the duration of the deployment I kept in great touch with Dereks family.  And I asked them if they would want to be apart of the homecoming.  and of course, without a doubt they were honored to be apart of this sepcial day.  Along with Dereks family, My sisters and my mother came for the homecoming.  Which couldnt have been more perfect.

Day of HOMECOMING: July 4th, 2010.  What more perfect day to have marines and sailors return from overseas?  Anyways, being that Derek had no clue that I had his family and my family with me I had to be sneaky!  So Derek calls me in the wee hours of the morning advising me that he and all the guys were accounted for and have LANDED on American Soil, in Conneticut I think..  So he told me that he would be arriving promtly at around 11 am at Camp Pendleton.  And now it was already 8 AM!!! I was running behind!  so I jumped in the shower and started getting ready, my man was home from Afghanistan!!! yes!  Well by the time everyone got ready we were out of the hotel by 11! I thought we were going to miss homecoming.  so we sped all the way to base!  Luckily, Dereks buses were running late.  but we did arrive on time.. as we sat there playing the waiting game, the buses pull up.  it was time. As the boys marched in, I waited anxiously with so much pride and excitement.  I was beyond proud of my husband.  He served two back to back deployments.  As the boys continued walking up.. There he was, he didnt see me but I saw him.  I was coming, actually running in 5 inch heels but finally his eyes met mines..and that smile that I was dying to see was right in front of me again.  I didnt have to look at a picture anymore.  He was right in front of me.  I held my banner up.  gave him a big hug and a little peck.  LOL his family was there.  He was so shocked to see them and so happy to have Mariah there.  It was love all over again.  And since this moment we've been stuck at the hip.

Now, August,  Derek was on post deployment leave so he got to spend 2 weeks in AZ with me.  and guess what we did... WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!! We had been looking his whole deployment, I was sending him links via email.. but it just wasnt the same as it was having him home browse with me!  Anyways, we were approved with no problem.. and right now, we are two months from our house being completed.

As for this year, I have personally learned that I know how to rely on God for all my needs.  He was my husband when Derek was absent.  He was the one who gave me the courage that I needed and the support that I needed too.  This year has been by far the hardest, but yet the best ever.  I am beyond thankful that my husband is home, for good.  He served 5 years in the United States Navy and now he is MINE. :)

Thinking

So my sister and I were having a conversation about children. All of my female cousins have popped out a child except me. on ALL sides of the family. is that wrong? I dont want kids anytime soon but I have been getting so much pressure from everyone including my husband about having a child. I DO NOT WANT A CHILD anytime soon. How hard is that to understand? I have a life of school still ahead of me. I have been in college for 6 whole years already and I have done just fine without a lil Gonzo crawling around. Im tired of taking everyones BS on having a child.

that stupid darn superbowl

I dont see why people make such a huge overrated deal when it comes to sports, generally the retarded supebowl. I guess it just makes me so mad when I see die had fans go all out for a couple of hours of a stupid ball being thrown around. I dont get it? why are people that way when it comes to football? It breaks me heart to see so many lost people across the world get crazy like that for a game.. Just think of this for a moment. could you possibly begin to imagine people getting like that for God and for church? as much as I would love to say that could be the case, reality of it is that will never happen. People everyday are loosing their souls because of the consquences people make. but I just wish they would really take a look into their lives and try to find some salvation. It would be so great to see an arena filled like that and pumped for Christ that way. but that'll never happen.

anyways, I guess I am done venting. I never said that there is anything wrong with people enjoying a nice game and stuff. but how bout we try harder to be that way for God. Is that wrong?

Prayer Prayer Prayer.

So news is with the process with purchasing our first home.

We've been contacted by the VA and the process to getting the first step done is out of the way. WE needed to fill out the Va certificate of eligibility. Done that. check.

Now were getting pre-approved on an amount.. and to make things more exciting I have found a house that I absolutely loved the moment I saw it. 4 beds, 3 baths. huge kitchen, 3-car garage. marble counter tops in the kitchen along with tile and carpeting in the rooms. witha GRASS backyard. yay! and its actually UNDER our budget.. So Derek has yet to see it but hopefully he will love it as much as I do.. actually I think he will, because his precious wife found it for cheaper than what we initially decided on. Cant wait to go and see it.. since its located in Zona, mom and dad are gonna head out to go see it. what I like most about the property is that it is literally a hop, skip and a jump away from my sissys house. which means we can have the baby on whenever we'd like.. ALSO its less than 5 mins from mom and dad.. metophorically speaking-we could all see each other daily.

We are standing and beleiving God for his promises and just believing in Him.

anyways more updates to follow.

Today I think I have come to realize that I need an intervention. I admire shoes. Shoes represent people. Shoes have originality. Shoes have style. Shoes show who you are as a person. Shoes make you. And I think I have come to realize that I need to part from some of the shoes that I own. I own quite a few shoes and yesterday there was an incident.

Yesterday I was running late.. and in a hurry I totally forgot to turn on my closet light as I was running out of the house, and I totally grabbed two left black heels to work yesterday morning. :~(. yes, two left black heels. quite embarassing I might add. I called someone and they told me they would let my manager know. I was 27 minutes late.. hahaha.. But I really think I need to part. I dont know if I can do that though.

Well good news is i wore flats to work

oh, you wanna know when my husband comes home?

He comes home next month some time! Wooo! Yes its been a tough 6 months and finally its almost time to call this deployment over!! I can tell you of all the emotions that I've had, my crazy mood swings, my really bad pity fits, my times where I've just wanted to crawl in a hole and die! Well, I don't wanna bore ya. Right now I can't even sleep because I'm so anxious in knowing that my husband returns home. Its been so rough, but God is good, he's provided for the both of us and he made a way for me to make it this far. Through these past months I can look back and see how much I've grown so much and to be quite honest its been a massive amount. I came in with knowing nothing about the military and now I could try and give you ever definition my husband throws at me. I'm no longer a boot wife! :) well right now he's in a place that he necessarily doesn't wanna be in but he's so close to coming home he could really careless where he is. But ima try and get some shut eye. Until next time kids. Good night.

Love you husband!

whoa whoa whoa

First off.. Ovulating sucks! And to those guys out there (including my husband) who thinks cramps are funny. Shame on you. Aunt flow is in full affect. :-) well things are looking up for the most part, I mean God is so good! He knows just how much I can handle, we can handle. That his hand is never too short, its always within His reach. I can't begin to thank God enough for ALL that he has done. I am so thankful that he knows our hearts, he knows out thoughts, and he know just what were going through. Thank you God, for you've been so faithful.

About 70% of this deployment=ACCOMPLISHED!!!!!!! Whoa. I cannot begin to explain my excitement and my joy right now. I can hardly contain it!!

Well I don't have much to say today. Except God is good and I love my husband beyond anything ever fathonable.

I love you babe-o

updates!

Well, my husband will be coming home very very soon! And I am so thrilled to have him home and be my husband :-). So excited and so overwhelmed with joy! My husband is my one and only and I cannot be more thankful to have him as my man. :-)
Things are making progress here in CAL and I think I'm finally starting to wing myself from my parents and everyone back home. Its been a drag me having to always go back and visit. No one really visits me so I think its good being on my own.
Well, short update. :-)

A Womans Worth

One Flaw In Women
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice..
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they
think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what
makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their
family and friends.
Women have vital things to say
and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

I'm amazed

Well its the 19th and we are on to month 5 of this deployment. Never have I thought I would make it this far without having a nervoud breakdown or two. These past 4 months have been an emotional roller coaster. Everything that I thought wouldn't happen, did. And that's ok. Because everything is panning out perfect and I know if I have a positive attitude about everything, it will all be perfect. My husband comes home soon. But not soon enough. Currently he's preparing to head to Australia! Yes. That lucky man. Well I know he'd trade that to come home in a heartbeat. His birthday is next week. And I hope he has a good birthday, (yes, without me) :-).

Well I'm in Zona for the next 9 days. Angelica the baby sister graduates high school on thurs so I'm here for that. I can't believe it. My mom and dad have all hs grads and now working on college degrees.

Update on vanessa. (Vanessa is my older sister). Well she is 8 weeks and 4 days pregnant and 220 days to go. Her first trimester is coming to an end! And on to her 2nd one! I take her to the drs tomm! Oh my I an so anxious to see the ultrasound. So excited!

But nothing more to update, until tomm kiddos. Goodnight

I love you babe-o

I LOVE my husband more than words could possibly express

The words to it. since I know he doesnt understand. :-)

I went* walking through streets soaked in oblivion
I went through parks with ghosts and fallen angels
I went without light, I went without sun,
I went without a feeling, I went dying.
I went flying over the sea on broken wings.

Oh love, you appeared in my life and you cured my wounds
Oh love, you are my moon, you are my sun, you are my bread of every day.

You appeared with your light
No, never leave, oh, don't leave, no
You are the glory us both until death

In a world of illusion
I was hopeless
I was abandoned
I lived without feelings
But (then) you came

Oh love, you are my religion
You are light, you are my sun
Open your heart, open your heart
---------------------------------

So long ago, my heart*,
I lived in pain, in oblivion
Oh love, you are my blessing, my religion
You are my sun that cures the cold

You appeared with your light,
No, no, no, don't abandon me
No, never, my love
Glory of us both
You are sun, you are my all
You are blessing.

I will live forever by your side with your light
I will die by your side
You are glory and blessing

You are my blessing*
You are my religion

You are my eternity
And even my salvation

I had nothing
And today I have you with glory
With glory, with glory
My love (x5)

You are my blessing
You are my light, you are my sun.

Mixed feelings can just ruin your day

Alright so today was going good.. and out of no where my sister Vanessa said she had to tell me something.. so first thing I thought was oh man something is wrong... well she told me to go away from everyone so I could be alone.. well she sent me a picture message. and the picture message was a picture of a pregnancy test that showed pregnant!!! My sister is pregnant! and I am so happy for her and my brother in law.. this is prefect.. they just bought a house that should be done sometime in July/August. and I really couldnt be any more happy. She is so excited but so scared at the same time. But I am happy!

I will posts updates when they come.. but there is a picture of exactly what their kitchen is going to look like. .;-)

well after an eventful day.. (NOT) my husband is randomly online, on myspace and just decided to leave me a comment, but didnt feel the need to log on aim or yahoo messenger without me having to tell him? what the heck.. sometimes he just dont get that I literally wait hours and hours and days and weeks to hear from him. he is very inconsiderate and he does NOT realize it.. so its whatever at this point.. if he wants to continue acting like a douche bag that whatever. I dont even want to talk to him if hes going to act that way. .

I dont have anything else to say right now.
